LunchTeam has no accounts, no tracking or advertising cookies, and never asks for your location.
If you create or join a lunch vote, we store one strictly necessary cookie (lt_id): a random key, kept for 180 days, that lets this browser change its vote or, for the organizer, finalize. It is linked to the votes, RSVP and group name of the lunches you join, but to no name, email or location. A lunch, with its votes, RSVPs and group name, is deleted 90 days after the lunch date. When the key expires, its preferences are deleted at once and the key itself once the last lunch it took part in has been deleted. Backup copies may hold deleted data for up to 30 more days.
The Home and Groups pages list the lunches this browser has joined, using the same key. Nobody else can see that list.
If you save preferences (budget, maximum distance, vegetarian or vegan), they are stored with the same anonymous key, also when you have not joined a lunch, so saving creates that cookie. They are only used for your own Explore filters and to pre-fill the budget and distance of a new lunch vote on this browser. They are never shown to other people in your groups, but the settings you submit for a vote (budget, diet, distance) are visible to everyone in that lunch. They contain no allergy information, and you can delete them at any time on the Preferences page. The key itself expires after 180 days, and its preferences are then deleted automatically.
